Aims and Objectives

The Breakfast Club aims to offer a calm, welcoming and nurturing start to the school day for children attending Ysgol Porth y Felin. The club provides a nutritious breakfast in a safe environment, supporting pupils’ wellbeing and readiness for learning.

Children for whom care is provided
The Breakfast Club is available for children who attend Ysgol Porth y Felin and Ysgol Feithrin Conwy.

Opening Hours – Monday to Friday, Term Time Only

  • 8.00am – 8.15am (Paid Session)
    A supervised early-drop-off session is available for a fee of £1 per child, payable daily.
  • 8.15am – 8.40am (Free Breakfast Club)
    A free session offering breakfast to all registered children.
  • Last entry: 8.40am
    No arrivals can be accepted after this time.

Children are escorted safely to their classrooms at the end of the session.

Staff

Staffing for the Breakfast Club is drawn from Ysgol Porth y Felin and Ysgol Feithrin Conwy team members, ensuring consistency and high-quality care.

Activities Offered

Breakfast Club provides a relaxed environment where children can enjoy breakfast and take part in calm, quiet-start activities such as reading, drawing, puzzles and gentle play. These activities help prepare pupils positively for the school day.

Food Provision

A healthy breakfast is provided, following school and local authority guidance for nutrition, food safety and hygiene. Water and milk are available.

Fees / Payments

  • 8.00am – 8.15am: £1 per child (paid daily)
  • 8.15am – 8.40am: Free of charge
