Welcome to Porth y Felin School

A primary school at the heart of the town of Conwy, North Wales

Ysgol Porth y Felin was established in September 1998 as a voluntary aided school under the Church in Wales, following the amalgamation of Bodlondeb, Gyffin and Chadnant schools. The school is named after one of the historic gates of the walled town of Conwy, reflecting our strong roots within the local community.

We educate over 300 pupils in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment, where every child is encouraged to believe in themselves, respect others and succeed. Our dedicated staff work tirelessly to provide engaging and purposeful learning experiences that challenge, inspire and enable every pupil to achieve their full potential.

“Ysgol Porth y Felin is a caring school that places a high priority on the wellbeing and development of all pupils. Leaders have established a clear and coherent vision that promotes the principle that every child ‘believes, respects and succeeds.”
